About The Artwork
Inspired by Mexican fine artist Frida Khalo, my Menina Khalo is a representation of her love for nature and all things beautiful. She lived her live in constant pain yet she saw the beautiful side of things appreciating flowers and hummingbirds as a marvelous occurrence. The contrast of colors with a huge influx of the amazing light we see in South Florida and the caribbean blue waters make for an impressive color rendition. I imagine a Northern setting where she sits aove the fireplace in dead of winter offering a respite from all the falling snow. Craving flowers a springtime phenomenon, year-round.
