ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I'm drawn to the idea of still life and breaking down the detail into shape, colour and pattern, although I also enjoy purely abstract work - playing with composition and texture and butting shapes up to one another until I feel the perfect aesthetic resolution. This is number 5 in Series 2 of these paint and paper abstract collages inspired by still life and recurring motifs of bowl shapes, circles and dots.
