About The Artwork
My grandmother was a committed Lutheran; this sort of imagery was ubiquitous in our household growing up. She believed in this Christian iconography while she was alive; I thought it fitting to include her in it posthumously. Inspired by Gustav Klimt and William-Adolphe Bouguereau and old photos of my grandmother in her 40's.
