Art Description

Collage: Photo, Paper on Cardboard, Paper.

At this critical point in Earth’s history, we are seeing more people concerned by the human effect on the environment and questioning our place and role within the landscape. Through climate change, melting permafrost or rising sea levels; we stand at a tipping point where it fast approaching the inevitable truth; that turning back is not an option and soon we will have to stand and face this new reality of our own making.

The moment where existence and nonexistence coalesce is representative of the flux of all life on Earth; that it can rise and fall in a moment and will never reappear in the same way again.

This artwork is a 3D layered collage made from original photographs from the artist. Each layer is carefully cut by hand and separated by an archival cardboard layer.
