Vincent worked for IKEA....... Collage

Many people find it incredible that so many famous artists worked for IKEA. Vincent lasted only a day and a half. He didn’t have the right temperament for the job. In fact it was only due to his brother Theo, who worked IKEA’s logistics department, and who pulled a few strings, that Vincent was hired in the first place. Nevertheless, despite the short duration of his employment, IKEA was to have a profound effect on Vincent’s art. Gone were the dark colours of paintings such as "The Potato Eaters", to be replaced with a much more vibrant palette. He especially made use of the IKEA blue and yellow.
