ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This one-of-a-kind painted collage is composed of 19th c. Japanese calligraphy pages together w/ gold leaf, indigo & lacquer papers. It was then hand-painted over with multiple layers of watercolor, gouache and pastel to give the work a beautiful cosmic depth (and Japanese spirituality). This piece has been mounted onto a 2 very thick sheets of 300gsm handmade Awagami paper and is signed/ dated on back . It will will look absolutely amazing in a wooden shadowbox frame but please note is sold here unframed. Suitable for home, office, cafe, Japanese restaurant, spa, hotel, etc...... If you have any questions about this artwork or are in need of an even large sized artwork, please message me anytime. Thank you for looking at my work. Peace & Love from Japan............

New York born 1966 / Japan-based artist, Craig Anczelowitz seamlessly merges fine art, design & craft traditions in his mixed-media works. His allegorical pieces, often constructed with 17th&18th c. Japanese calligraphy papers reflect Craig’s cross-cultural ‘East-meets-West’ aesthetic; drawing parallels between the 2 countries (and cultures) he navigates. Craig’s creative career as both fine artist and designer has been highlighted by numerous international art exhibitions and award-winning collaborations.
