About The Artwork
Wanting to repurpose National Geographic magazines into something beautiful and representative of the pages used, I chose the white tiger for it's symbol of powerful energy in the Chinese culture. It's application of folded paper is like painting with paper, arranging as if pieces of a puzzle and the texture is similar to the variations of mosaic tiles. To conserve and change the medium that may soon be extinct was also a driving factor.
