Believing iljung kim I think that knowing something, seeing something, believing is something very close together. It is only after recognizing, seeing, hearing, and doing, that you will know something, and only then will you come to the conclusion that you can believe it. Modern people experience more indirectly than direct experiences. In the current era of the Internet, media can function more closely in our lives. We share and share a lot of information with the media. But there are a lot of things that can not easily be answered about whether it is really reliable information. This is because there is virtually no way to check every single piece of fragmented information. In that sense, I realized that the other link is the media. I thought that it was the media that connects me and the world, and that it controls the media. The shape of my Buddha was also "captured" from the media, or the result of a video that someone was shot firmly under professional lighting. It is the so-called "realistic" images of the artist himself than the object he or she saw with the naked eye. In some ways, I have experienced that images that are more realistic than those seen with the naked eye work closer to the original. At that point, I thought that the (real and fake) boundaries of the original and the copy were broken down. I have even heard the idea that some part of the truth may be forced to believe. Rather, Confucius said, "Is not true knowing what we do not know?" In the end, we prepared this exhibition with the idea that everything is ambiguous and all meaning decisions are postponed or reserved, and the most clearly embodied time of the Buddhist message is now. Such a series of messages came in contact with my mother-in-law I was using. My mother-in-law transmits light and reflects it at the same time. In addition, depending on the direction of viewing, the pattern is glowing differently according to the pattern of the mother of the original. And, depending on what color is colored before attaching the mother-of-pearl, the overall color looks different. Although mother-of-pearl is a traditional and highly crafted material, when it is converted into the realm of contemporary art, it can be said that the mother-of-pearl material can be more sophisticated than any other material. It is an exhibition that seeks a common denominator that can be seen when the so-called religion of Buddhism and the material of its mother are encountered in a very secular area.
