About The Artwork

Landscapes Kim Il Jung In fact, the series of scenery my mother - child creates is not stereotyped. It covers the substance and reveals it, and it lures the eyes of the viewer who looks as if it is invisible. The colors filled in the base are visible at an angle and at a certain angle are covered by the glare of the mother-of-pearl. Also, if you move around while viewing the landscape, the shells reflected in the light will shine as they move in response to changes in each location. The bushes, pine trees, birch trees, conifer trees, sosa trees, etc., whose names have not been unintentionally discerned, can be found. The numerous shrubs that form the forest are shrunk to shells and occupy a certain space. The inexhaustible endless shell fragments are separated from each other according to their respective tones and embodied in appropriate forms at appropriate places, and appear as a landscape of constant distance. From a distance, it is an unfamiliar landscape that I have not seen at all, and it is also a well-known forest road that I have seen from somewhere. The material actually taken out and taken. (Somewhere in the middle of Mt. Halla, Gotjawal forest, near Sobaek Mountain, near Berlin, Namsan in Seoul, etc.) These images are images taken with my naked eye, and the scenes in the forest wandering the Internet (Southeast Asian ruins, mangrove forests, etc.) Are reproduced in different forms according to the properties of the material properties. Mother-of-pearl is a so-called shell shell made from pearl shells. Such shells are reduced to another shell (superficial scenery) depending on differences in thickness, difference in tone, and resolution. The outside of the shell is covered with plastic, and the inside of the shell is covered with paint of each species. The inner paint determines the outcome of the mother-of-pearl, and the plastic applied to the outside reveals and protects the determined mother-of-pearl more clearly. They interact with each other, cause and relate constantly. Also, as you get closer, the form slowly breaks down, creating a series of irregular patterns with a single shell of shells sticking together. The experience is transformed from a kind of reproduced shape to an abstract pattern. The rows and columns of such mosaicked shells no longer stand for any form and color, but so-called, in each of their respective positions. It was far and wide, but I could not see it when I approached. Since it is invisible, it is hard to know whether it is real or in vain. The actual paints that are revealed inside are in the form of a coat of hats called my mother-in-law. So vague scenes that do not know whether they are real or virtual are distinctive and do not exist as they exist in a dreary aura The physical distance between me and the landscape is an important determinant of the work. I think it is necessary for the artist to have his own 'street' in order to express his mother-in-law and the feeling that I want to express properly. I am a media. Everything in the world functions as a kind of media. A proper distance that is neither too far nor too close to you. In other words, expressing something (something) seems to start with 'what more do you do or what you want to do'. The street so determined. And a series of patterns embodied by my own methodology are assembled in a new format
