About The Artwork

In this captivating fake photo, we witness Albert Einstein beneath an open box, within which peeks Schrödinger's cat. Symbolizing the enigmatic realm of quantum mechanics, the scene captures Einstein's contemplation of the paradoxical nature of reality. With furrowed brows and a pensive gaze, Einstein grapples with the elusive interplay between observation and uncertainty, as the cat's potential states hang in the balance. This visual metaphor serves as a poignant reminder of the profound questions that permeate the foundations of physics, inviting us to delve deeper into the mysteries that Einstein and Schrödinger sought to unravel.

I am Luxembourg-born scientific illustrator and artist living in Hanover, Germany. For a couple of decades I was a copywriter for Honeywell Bull, Nokia and Siemens. Then I slowly slipped into computer graphics. I specialized in illustrating molecules and fullerenes for a long time. In 1988 I received a recognition of the Prix Ars Electronica for my graphic "Funnel". In 2023 I started doing AI illustrations. I live together with my partner Elke Leger, my favorite photo subject, and a turtle named George.
