About The Artwork

Inspired by Miro & Kandinsky In the "Movement" series my focus is composition, color & movement. "Movement Blue" was selected from over 1,000 competing submissions for Studio Visit by Barbara O' Brien, Executive Director, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City MO. Movement Blue explores the interplay of vibrant geometric forms within a holistic visual universe. Elements in movement and their suspension in space evoke a mysterious dimension where beauty and harmony reign. Archival pigment ink on Canvas.

*This web-link is direct from artist. Thank you for your support💕 Atsuko O. Shatz is a Japanese abstract artist based in the U.S.A. Her art training began at the age of eight with oil painting & Japanese calligraphy. In each composition Atsuko explores the “architecture of the imagination" in which diverse geometric elements are harmonized within a holistic visual universe. Atsuko's art strikes a delicate balance, dynamic tension and integration of "cool" geometric forms accentuated by "warm" evocative colors. Dual hemispheres are united by a bold central geometric element. The precise placement of geometrics evokes a sense of movement (freedom) and stability (control) among contrasting, opposing hemispheres. Clean lines bring the composition into pristine focus. Her art has been featured by major media such as New York City’s Fox 5 television “Good Day Art Gallery”, Tampa Bay Times, New Jersey’s Star-Ledger newspaper, Studio Visit Magazine as well as Japan’s Fuji television and Asahi television networks.
