About The Artwork

This illustration was created to participate to the collective exhibition 'Back in Black' at The Stage Gallery in Cologne. I found the theme deeply inspiring: it gave me the opportunity to create darker images, which I rarely have the occasion to work on these days. I reflected on the theme of 'Pandora's Box' and developed it within a contemporary frame where Pandora is a very elegant woman, mesmerized by the "box". The 'box' is a luminous object from which the chaos of conflicting human feelings is dangerously released. This illustration comes as a framed giclée (printed on Hahnemühle William Turner matt paper). The measurements of the image with the frame are as follows: 47.7cm x 61cm, frame is black (20mm) with passepartout and a 2cm white border.
