Sapphire is a Heroine Series painting: in a world obsessed with celebrities, the series takes everyday store clerks, students, mothers, artists, professionals and transforms them into modern day heroine. Using the original paintings as a base, Stephen enhances the original work digitally to create beautiful, limited edition Giclee prints. This Limited Edition Heroine Series Giclée is produced on Archival Certified Matte Canvas at 450 g/m². This is a heavy 19 mil matte canvas protected by an acid-free, neutral pH finish coating. The canvas is wrap mounted over 1.5 inch thick, kiln dried stretcher bars, just like the original. The mounted canvas is finished with black archival backing and hanging wire. The artist controls the printing process assuring your canvas artwork will be produced to the highest standards. Each Giclee is proofed before shipping and hand signed by the artist. A certificate of authenticity will verify the originality of the limited edition.

With a degree in photography, Stephen Harkola’s portrait paintings usually begin with a live model photo shoot to capture poses.
