About The Artwork

The sunflower (himawari) The sunflower is a symbol of the sun, of course, and is often linked to love. In Greek mythology, the nymph Clytia falls madly in love with the sun god Apollo. Although Clytia is remarkably beautiful, Apollo does not respond to her love. The result: Clytia dies of grief, turns into a sunflower and turns her head incessantly so that she can follow her sun god with her eyes. So this cheerful flower has a very dramatic past in love... The sunflower is the symbol of fidelity, accompanying the sun from morning to night. Of course, sunflowers also look like little suns. That's why, in their native America, they were considered a symbol of the sun gods. Sunflowers can be given as gifts on a variety of occasions. A bouquet of sunflowers can be given in a romantic relationship, at weddings, to wish someone well when they are ill, or on birthdays. Any occasion is a good one for giving pleasure with this pretty flower. Giving someone a sunflower means a great deal to them. The sunflower represents loyalty (as Clytie was to Helios). It means admiration and praise for the person giving the bouquet. The bouquet is also a symbol of encouragement. Your artwork is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright White 310g/m2 paper, then laminated on Dibond. This Dibond is then mounted in an American wooden crate in the color of your choice. Depending on the format ordered, one or two hangers are supplied. For more information on our print options, please contact me.

I've always been fascinated by images and the visual arts. When I make my photographs, I always try to leave something to chance, unlike in this discipline where the photographer has to master the technique and control many parameters. I make my images from emotion, and there's an irrational ingredient, I try to escape the realism that characterizes reportage photography, to express emotion through color and creative fugue. Having traveled a lot, I attach great importance to nature and people, but above all to the spiritual character that lives in every living being. Love, nature, children, animals - these are all subjects I'm very fond of.
