Ce dessin au feutre noir est réalisé d'un seul jet sans repentir, sans correction aucune. Il s'agit d'un travail graphique d'expression libre dont l'écriture se fait de gauche à droite du dessin et de façon quasi automatique. Thierry Virton crée ainsi une oeuvre qui se dévoile à lui au fur et à mesure de sa création en découvrant des personnages qui réapparaitront parfois sur d'autres dessins. L'univers onirique qui se révèle au spectateur est un monde excentrique, peuplé de chimères et autres animaux étranges. A l'image des dessins japonais, des monstres apparaissent dans cet univers situé à mi-chemin entre la bande dessinée, l'illustration et le manga. Ce travail puise sa source dans le Pop Art et notamment celui initié par Keith Haring dont le mouvement Doodle Art fait suite; mais aussi dans les estampes japonaises qui ont initié les mangas et ont donner une place prépondérante dans l'art du trait unique, décisif et instinctif.

My work draws its source, in part, from my inconscious mind. My imaginary, often landscaped, is the fruit of an intimate link with Nature. Recently, my drawings are inspired by cartoon, illustration and pop art. Today, i am very impressed by japan pop art, especially by Takashi Murakami. I express myself in plasticity multiform ways, in lyrical abstraction in the beginning and now in free figurative painting and drawings. In all the cases i work by expressive gestural and by release of the colors. My creativity claims to explore all the time. No limit to create. I paint my inconscious dream in full freedom. My artwork result of an automatic and spontaneous gestual. The human figures and hybrids creatures appear in an imaginary primitive world. My representation of the world takes from the child who i stayed, metaphorical imaginary, with a visionary and symbolic approach.
