Drawing, Pen and Ink on Other
Size: 0.4 W x 0.4 H x 0.1 D in
Description: This drawing was specifically made for the exhibition "Sensitivity Questioned" at the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Centre.
It depicts an enlarged human ovum in black and white. While most of the artists in the show used external references to show their own view on sensitivity, I took a journey inwards and moved back to our first, common home, our mother's womb.

Greece
I was born in 1976 in Athens, Greece where I live and work as a freelance graphic designer, photographer, illustrator and copywriter. I work mainly with pencil and ink on various surfaces. My drawings are characterized by autobiographical references, elements of automatic writing and harmonic repetition. I seek inspiration in everyday life (whether it's an incident, an image or a song) and dig up images from my childhood and the native art of faraway continents. Three movements that have played a big role in my work are: Surrealism, Art Brut and the Situationist International. My current profile picture is a portrait I did of Lamberto Maggiorani, the protagonist in Vittorio de Sica's Bicycle Thieves (pencil and a bit of acrylic collage, 40x40cm).
