Being a Family concern, these two sisters had frequently observed their Father operating the local Movie House. After many deliberations, they finally persuaded their Father to allow them to have a go. They decided each would have a responsibility even though the whole process was usually carried out by one person. One chose to insert the film into the top magazine reel or spread it through a series of sprockets and guide rollers attaching the end to the take-up reel. The other decided on being the inspector to ensure the films are complete and in good condition, and generally monitoring processes and surroundings so that she would be able to solve any technical problems quickly and efficiently. This, sometimes, involved splicing and rewinding the films. However, it took but a moment for a blip in synchronisation for everything to unravel. Colours flashed staccato-like within the tiny cubicle as the spools of film flew and whipped themselves into a frenzy. They both ended up on the floor, desperately grabbing at the flying debris, squealing at the near misses towards their heads and gasping with frustration as their attempts were thwarted when grabbing at shadows instead. Added to this dilemma was the erupting audience. With these old theatres, this projection room behaviour was a frequent source of amusement. It was believed, that bets were often taken at the entrance of the establishment.
