An approximation Drawing

The work is inspired by charreadas from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico that I attended before, focusing not only on the traditional parts of this cultural event but on other unique ones. The set of all the works made in 2019 was seen in the "Charros" exhibition at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts, evoking different emotions to the spectators. The approach to a theme begins by analyzing the study of light and shadow with charcoal, and sometimes the theme is repeated with a sanguine. The study is deepened with inks and/or watered inks that finally gives way to watercolor. An approximation was drawn after most of the charcoal and ink artworks were completed. The artwork synthesizes the theme of the manganeador a pie (manganeador afoot) using a conceptual style. The image shows the movement of the charro when pulling the rope to a horse so it falls down. 80 lb. Recycled Strathmore Drawing Paper 400 series was chosen due to the quality of the paper for this kind of work.
