About The Artwork
This painting is inspired by Renaissance architectures, which I freely re-elaborated. It makes part of a collection of 'invisible cities', named after Italo Calvino's 'The Invisible Cities' novel. My cities are metaphors of contemporary life. I want this painting to nurture the imagination - this artwork enshrines Italian beauty. I use only watercolor paper for its properties and as a political stance: no matter what I lay on watercolor paper, it will always be watercolor paper, even without coloring on it.
