ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a continued exploration of villages and cottages or houses growing on a surface. The work is executed on both sides of vellum using acrylics and inks as well as correction pen for highlights. I like the idea of a village being more than a geographic location, something that occupies a well defined space. I like to think of a village or community as defying physicality, growing over boundaries and not being easily relegated to a set location.
