Dogs Print

In the series ‘Animals’, I depict the power relation between the soldier and the military-centered society through synthetic human concepts of other species, particularly dogs and lions. The vulnerable lion echos society’s glorified image of the soldier in contrast to the pathetic reality of the soldier, whose service encompasses an anti-human individual objectification. The vicious, yet helpless dog describes a subspecies, both inferior and idolized, which reflects the soldier’s taming and conditioning. Like a dog loyal to its owners, the soldier is trained to be a blind servant of his society.
