About The Artwork

"Drinking his soul" from the series "Fairy tales for adults". - Hey, soldier, go and bring the chest! Or I'll drink your soul, no one will find you, heh). You can take the chest for yourself and give me the flint. There is not enough fire for me in this mortal world. Go down to the dungeon. Or give your soul. Choose now. Do you remember a fairy tale of Hans Christian Andersen "The tinderbox" /Flint/? This fairy tale came into my head as assosiation, after I finished this work. The way of creation is weird, magical, full of wonders. Because I draw by my hand, but the result may be a surprise for me. And when the idea come, I know - that's to make her alive, to manifest in this material world. With a help of me and other unmanifested forces, that acts in Univrese.

Lidia Matviyenko lives and creates in Ukraine, sign her creations as Lidikart. Grew up in the Sokal city (Lviv region, Ukraine). Graduate from the Lviv National Academy of Arts (faculty of costume design). Creates graphics, illustrations, decorative paintings, digital collages and wall paintings. Lida also write intuitive texts for her artworks.  She always felt something boundless inside, the potential, she didn't know how to express. Fairy tales (she was in love with the illustrations and stories), myths and songs, made a great influence on her formation in childhood (mother's merit). One of the most interesting book was "Evil Power" (ukrainian mythology) by Vasyl Korolov-Staryj with a beautiful mermaid on cover page. Lida believed from the early childhood, that elves, fairys, mermaids and other creations exists, like other civilizations in parallels worlds or smth. She had a resonance for all this inside of her soul.  Explores psychological moments, human nature (as a deep creation), nature of her soul (core), cause-effect relationships (connections), unmanifested (Echard Tolle's term), divine, spiritual in us, the way we form our reality, and how we affect on the collective reality too. Self-knowledge and exploring of own essence, of nature of things - the most interesting reason to be here, discovered by artist by now.
