About The Artwork
One of my large meditation drawings, this piece consists of thousands of hand drawn circles on a thick acid free art board. Exactly 40 hours (timed to the second) of drawing. I am creating a series representative of specific measurements of time. I chose 40 hours on this piece to represent the full-time work schedule attributed to non-salaried positions in the United States. Contemplating the fact that most individuals spend more time at work than they do with their families and their passions, I find it interesting that the passing of such a significant part of one's time can be represented on such an unimposing scale.
