About The Artwork

The delirium of a vibrant body outstretched the lines of the sheet become a natural continuation of the trembling of that same body the possibility of stopping time that moment before something happens Suspension silence time is at a standstill, now this is the miracle I wanted to achieve with my pencil, by creating this drawing I wanted the model to pose for me with a completely natural attitude to give me the chance to capture that moment of suspension of time which is the peak of any pleasure I put the pencil in the foot lines in the foreground I slipped towards the background and then I went back and I insisted on the lines of the legs Despite the great technical effort and the long execution of this work, it was a pleasure to me discovering the infinite variations of light on the body of a model, enhanced by the rays which penetrated from the window. While I was creating I thought about the great erotic drawings of Renato Guttuso, the “master of Bagheria”, the great Sicilian painter who represents for me, that I’m Sicilian like him, an absolute point of reference in particular as regards the expressive power of the sign that I think I inherited from him. As I have written other times, eroticism is really a form of knowledge of Self and of the Other. This drawing confirmed it to me. Its suspended atmosphere, the particular relationship that this drawing and its realization have established with the dimension of the Time makes this work of mine a real meditation on the mystery of the stream of time and on how it presents all things to us, modifying the reception and suggesting a different interpretation that appears at the same time perceptive and intellectual
