Born in Shoreditch East London in 1965, I am a fine art mixed media artist and I love graphite for its portability and efficacy. Having travelled extensively to over 35 countries and 48 American states, I know you are never alone for long with a sketch pad and pencil! Drawing an image can bypasses any language, intellect, sexual, religious or political difference. I believe any creative endeavour can bring people together and offer relief to the lonely or isolated. At the age of 20, while studying English & Sociology, during my class break, my eye was drawn to Art class, I strolled in and all my childhood passion, came to the service & I got bitten by the art bug. The Following day I returned to the class and spoke with the tutor, who encouraged me to join the A level class examination taking place the following week. Sat the examination and was awarded a grade A. Later on I did a stint at Central St Martins College of Art. It is this moment in time, that spurs me on to encourage, enable and hopefully inspire people to return to study, gain confidence and perhaps gain qualifications that can open doors. I took on the challenging role of PA to the keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts (Prof Brendan Neiland RA) and relished everyday I could sit with the students and enjoy life drawing in the same hallowed halls as Blake and Newton. Indeed, I was given the opportunity to exhibit my figurative work at the Royal Academy, in an exhibition opened by Sir Peter Blake. I continue to appreciate many longstanding friendships with Royal Academicians, staff and ex students at the RA Art school but chose to return to a career in the media. Having achieved teacher status, I now divide my time between London, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and the South Coast. My work is in private and public collections in Europe and the United States.
