Hope Park Crescent, Edinburgh Drawing

One day I went out with my friend walking around the meadows in Edinburgh. We chatted about our plans for the future and put in some mindless gossip too. We suddenly saw an intersection where Hope Park Crescent finishes. In front of me I saw this beautiful building with a circled corner. I have captured the moment just at the time when the sun shone on the beautiful brickwork of the building. I liked the contrast between the bright, pure beige facade on the front and the dark corridor where a bit of the road ends at the back. The tree just adds this life to the painting. Looking like it grew out of the darkness of the end of the road. The circular corner of the building leads the eye to this bit of mystery. I think this captures Edinburgh in a nutshell. I chose a traditional style of drawing as it fits the architecture of the building. Emphasising the grandeur and importance of the building. This building (Many other buildings in Edinburgh) has a strong and rich history which I think should not be forgotten. I hope this painting will at least show a part of it as there are many other parts of Edinburgh to see.
