About The Artwork
This is a charcoal drawing done from life of a scene at art school of people working - I wanted to capture how each individual is individual completely absorbed in their own work . It is a part of series of works I did showing the life in the studios. The big bay window in the background and its light effects is an important feature. Charcoal has an immediacy which makes it a good medium for making sketches from life featuring people who are not posing or keeping still.
