About The Artwork
An abstract, mural-inspired artwork of a kamayan feast. A kamayan’s festive nature is fitting during this festive holiday season, with the colors and liveliness but also the sense of community coming together. Some of my fondest memories in the Philippines are eating kamayan next to the beach. Walking back from swimming in the water, dripping wet and grabbing a bite while surrounded by friends or family. (Kamayan is a traditional and communal-style Filipino feast with assorted deliciousness laid out on banana leaves where everyone eats with their bare hands.)
