About The Artwork
Kintsugi is a Japanese technique which uses gold to repair what has been broken. That way, the piece becomes more valuable due to the addition of gold, but also unique for the 'scars' it shows. The heart is the organ we associate with deep emotions, and it is what gets broken when we experience something sad or unpleasant. Life is not a bed of roses, and it is our own responsability to mend our own hearts with gold each time they get broken. We should be fearless about getting hurt, for we can always repair ourselves with the gold inside us.
