Bob Beamon's world record of 8.90 m (29 ft. 2 1⁄2 in.) stood for 23 years until it was broken in 1991 by Mike Powell. Outstanding sportsmen exemplify the power of human spirit and thereby inspire artists to capture their image for ages.
