Lena Zak's artwork has been exhibited during group shows in European capitals, including London, Berlin, Lisbon, Athens, and Bratislava, as well as in New York, United States. Her paintings are part of private collections mainly in New York, Paris, Bratislava, and Prague. She has completed art residency programs in Lisbon and Berlin, and after spending several years living in Portugal, she now lives and works between Prague and Berlin. Learn more about Lena Zak's art practice: Lena Zak is a mixed-media artist working primarily in painting who also explores text-based and installation art. Zak's work focuses on the interplay of opposing elements, illustrating the connection between conflicting forces that influence our world and her personal experiences. This duality is reflected through a contrasting colour palette, compositions that blend chaos with harmony, and the use of destructive techniques to create new forms. In her creative process, Lena explores acoustic and visual relationships, allowing sound to shape the landscapes of her abstract paintings, resulting in a visuality with calligraphy-like qualities. Her body of work fundamentally mirrors the interconnected yet contradictory forces that shape our world.
