M G Walker: Prints & Drawings 1980 - 2015 (Artist Book) Drawing

A Survey of M G Walker's graphic work over three decades. I have created a series of artist books that show details from both my larger graphic works and details from collaborative paintings with American painter, Ellen Johansen. This is the most recent book in the series showing my prints and drawings from 1980 to 2015, using relief print, etching, lithography, monoprint and drawing. The early prints from 1980 to 1986 are mostly black & white images.I was influenced by a philosophy in British printmaking and in particular at the Central School of Art & Design Printmaking Department, that argued for multiple 'colours' of black in printmaking. This emphasis allowed the artist to concentrate on the importance of form. Also shown in the book, are mixed-media, collaborative graphic works I made with Ellen Johansen between 2012 and 2015. Finally, I have included graphic works on porcelain created in collaboration with Ellen Johansen and British painter, Bridget Oakely-Stevens in 2013. M G Walker September 2016
