"Threads that cross out the faces" is a series that is part of a work that I have been developing since the beginning of my university career. It consists of a series that tries to unmask the continuous "Roles of pink" as Mary Wollstonecraft said -that the excellence of some specifically feminine virtues is nothing more than an ideological masking of their own oppression, what are the feminine qualities; the sensitive heart, the delicate feelings, the taste for the refined, the sweetness, the docility, the negation, the capacity for sacrifice, the sweetening ingenuity of childishness and ignorance. All these qualities are nothing else that we could contemplate as "kind defects" thus understanding that the "Pink culture" accepts and impregnates defects that allow themselves to be charming and kind. This is my series of expressions that accompany this conformation of the social. My work explores the concept of cultural identity, integration, and displacement. My studio practice is influenced by Spanish cultural heritage and background in feminism and contemporary art. I use thick Fabric, a cultural-rich material, as a metaphor for my personal identity.
