"Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm" is a body of work that draws on urban elements from the Kurfürstendamm area in Berlin. Abstract forms and patterns latent in pavement tiles, manhole covers, walls, etc. are documented on location, taken out of their initial context and given a new - poetic - function as units of an improvisational composition. The drawing "Metamorphosis/Kurfürstendamm, Trace B, Improvisation IX" relates to a form traced from a decorative metallic wall in the Kurfürstendamm area in Berlin. Part of the broader current project "Metamorphosis" evolving in dialogue with diverse urban environments. ARCHIVAL NOTES Executed in powdered pigment on 120 g Arches archival 100% cotton paper. Signed and dated in recto. The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
