About The Artwork

My first memory of spending time alone at home goes back to a time when I was just four or five years old. It's a snapshot of my past that has remained vivid in my mind for these couple decades. This artwork encapsulates that very moment. The background, a radiant yellow, mirrors the walls of my room, casting a warm and comforting light. Two windows frame an expanse of clear blue sky, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. In one corner, a 90s cassette player takes a stage, accompanied by a pot of flowers and a playful red shape reminiscent of a child's whimsical drawing. Two cassette tapes, one resonating with Elton John's melodies and the other echoing a local theater production Yellow Bricks Road, complete the scene. Yet, the heart of this painting lies in that cherished memory. The image of a young me dancing alone in that yellow room, absorbed in the melodies, forms the emotional core. The subdued red car outline stands as a quiet testament to my preference for music over toys. As Elton John's "Rocket Man" played on repeat during the creation of this piece, the past intertwined seamlessly with the present, bridging the gap of time. This painting offers a window into my personal history, extending an invitation to briefly step into my world and experience that formative moment.

I create to document how am I. 50/♾️ Canvases painted ♾️/♾️ Emotions archived My creative process revolves around following my intuition in selecting colors, brushes, shapes, and strokes. I seek out forms and patterns that evoke familiar sensations—often these become metaphors for recent emotions or experiences. This process is akin to a dream, where each piece translates my recent feelings and encounters into a visual language. My journey into painting began during the winter of 2022, and from the very first canvas, I was captivated. It was then that I knew this artistic pursuit would be a lifelong endeavor. Dance, specifically street dance known as popping, used to be my creative outlet. Over the past decade, I honed my freestyle dancing, prioritizing emotional resonance while moving to tunes that resonated with me at that precise moment. My emotional connection with music has also seamlessly woven into my painting practice. Sometimes, a song played on repeat becomes an additional wellspring of creativity, inducing emotions like heartache, affection, reproach, or sympathy. My art serves as a record of my personal journey, capturing the essence of my emotions in the moment. I'm certain I'm not the only one who experiences such feelings. I extend an invitation to you to join me on this voyage, perhaps converging on shared emotions someday, captured on a canvas that speaks to us both.
