NIGHT AND DAY. 2009. Drawing

The Sentinel takes her position and remains vigilant throughout the night. When the moon(s) are shining, she can easily spot any restiveness and acts accordingly. When it's moonless, she entertains herself by orchestrating her vivid imagination as to what may be happening. It's a long way down from her high place, and the many creeping shadows form endless images, which, in turn, create moving pictures that amuse her. She is the story teller, the Director, and the Producer, sans censor. When the light of a new day dawns, she sits erect and twists and turns to stretch away the accumulated aches; bathes in the cool waters and prepares to rest until the next, up coming night.
