Narratives Drawing

This work is inspired by Rupert Murdoch a man whose deft control of media messaging I stand in awe of. Both shockingly biased and credulous his publications manage to inflame and educate at the same time. I have read Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky and been awakened to the truth about media and its role in dominant discourse. The lesson from his book being there is no such thing as impartial Journalism. I hope my viewers get a bit of a laugh and recognition of how they are spun to by media publications. I chose these medium because I needed a manageable and cost effective outcome in the production of the images. Mixed Media on Canvas fit the bill. Having looked at Andy Warhol’s work over the years I finally decided to embrace some of his ideas around appropriation of Corporate Intellectual Property and how it can be subverted.
