I started this drawing project in 2006 with pencil, color ink, coffee and breath blowing. Starting in 2020, I continued to draw with similar ideas but discontinued using coffee as my material. Inspired by Chinese Splash Ink Paintings, artists like John Cage, William Anastasi and Cy Twombly, and improvisational music, I like my lines a little offset to dance between randomness and consciousness in the space of in-betweenness heightened by marks of improvisation. The creative process mirrors the unpredictable nature of our daily life upon the reliance on interdependent elements and trusts to arrive at a work’s completion. The self merges with the creative process guided by intuition and feelings, bringing incredible foresight beyond preconceived notions. In my work, media are interconnected, and everyday realities are my building blocks.

My artistic journey in New York City has spanned nearly four decades. My work crosses drawing, video sound, installation, and multimedia collaborations. I started this drawing project in 2006. For many years, I used coffee, a nontraditional material, with pencil, color inks, and breath-blowing to create my work. Starting in 2020, I continued the idea but stopped using coffee as my primary material. Inspired by Chinese Splash Ink Paintings and artists like John Cage, William Anastasi, Cy Twombly, and improvisational music, the lines in my works are organic, fluid, and uncertain, dancing in the space of in-betweenness, randomness and consciousness, and heightened by marks of improvisation. The creative process innately mirrors the unpredictable nature of our daily reality upon the reliance on interdependent elements and trusts to arrive at a work's completion. The conscious self loses in the creative process guided by intuition and feelings, bringing incredible foresight beyond preconceived notions and sometimes words. Media are interconnected. Everyday unpredictable realities are my building blocks. The sizes of my drawings are 12"x9", 9"x12", 30"x22", 22"x30", and 8"x8". My current project, "Moving Drawing", crosses drawing, video and sound/music.
