ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired by the pastel sea studies of French impressionist artists. This drawing gives me a glimpse of fresh northern wind that I like so much. This is somewhere on the coast of Normandie. Soft pastels on Canson paper. Wooden frame, double matting and museum glass. Size with the frame is 14,9"x18'' (inches)

I'm best know for working with soft pastels and watercolours. I love sketching and sometimes I cannot help leaving my new paintings in a "rough sketch" phase. Because I think that the greater admiration of the nature lies in the first impression. In my childhood I used to spend a lot of time in Crimea, Feodosia. So now when I live in Moscow I miss the sea every day. And I love drawing it more than anything else! Being rather a graphic artist, I still love working with watercolours and sometimes oil paintings. Some of my works are in private collections in Russia, Spain and Norway. I sign my original artworks with "LA" or "LilleAnja". It's the nickname connected to my dear Oslo city and my Norwegian friends.
