Drawing: Ink, Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, Gesso on Paper, Other.
While vacationing in Sag Harbor, New York, I picked up a few interesting props for potential watercolor paintings. Without any art supplies on hand, but anxious to use my new found props, I grabbed a black oil paint marker and began drawing on the only paper I could find. The Sag Harbor Press. After going through the paper I found some white house paint and started to paint over the printed word. Convenient and simple made it easy for me to come up with an image without the pressure of working on blank paper. Adding vintage photos transferred onto transparent vellum felt right. Stating my process using a vintage typewriter, along with faux tape and/or staples helped create an aged patina. The photos are eastern European passport photos. This is a framed image in a simple wooden gesso white painted frame.
