About The Artwork
Legends tell tales of birds turning into flowers. Looking at the strange beauty of this orchid-iris hybrid come to me via Costa Rica, I believe this could be true. Feeling the texture and thickness of the petals, admiring its shape and contrasting color patterns, I could not but hold a vision of a bird in flight that during transformation draped its wings into the wind, like sails undulating soft and white throughout, but for a single blade blooming stark black stripes of a great bengal tiger, that bewildered by its paradox, chased post-haste interfusing with the flower.
