About The Artwork

Jump to: navigation, search "Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl" the volcanoes Popocatépetl ("the Smoking Mountain") and Iztaccíhuatl ("white woman" in Nahuatl, sometimes called the Mujer Dormida "sleeping woman" in Spanish)[1] which overlook the Valley of Mexico. The most common variety relates the Nahua romance of the princess Iztaccíhuatl and the warrior Popocatépetl. This tale is recorded in several different versions. The Legends of POPOCATEPETL Iztaccíhuatl's father sent Popocatepetl to war in Oaxaca, promising him his daughter as his wife if he returned. Iztaccíhuatl's father presumed he would not return and so arranged several suitors for his daughter. When Iztaccíhuatl heard of this she killed herself with a dagger, because she knew that Popocatepetl would never survive in battle, and did not want to marry anyone else. When Popocatépetl returned, and discovered the death of his lover, he took her to the top of the mountain, hoping the cold would wake her but Instead he froze. God covered them with snow and changed them into mountains. Iztac cíhuatl's mountain was called "La Mujer Dormida, (the "Sleeping Woman"), because it bears a resemblance to a woman sleeping on her back. Popocatepetl became the volcano Popocatepetl raining fire on Earth in blind rage at the loos of his beloved.

" Art is not a thing, it is the way" Elbert Hubbart Art is not a thing, it is a way" Elbert Hubbart I love painting and drawing, but my life is drawing a lot of varieties subjects like the landscapes, portraits, animals - nature. I was born in Slovakia, in the small town Skalica, where I grew up, lived and worked to mid-September 2012. I have been attending the art school in Slovakia (town Skalica) for 3 years and attended the art lessons (2009 - 2011) at the artist Mrs. Hana Vesela At the end of September 2012 I have moved to Mexico, Cancun, where I currently live and spend most of my time by drawing. I have some experience, with acrylic, oil pastel, and dry pastel, but my favorite is drawing by dry pastel. I think the artist can express anything in the world using the lines.
