Tanmoy Mitra is an art practitioner based in Bangladesh, working through a multifaceted approach to visual art across diverse disciplines. His practice is interdisciplinary, shaped by an ongoing engagement with thought, emotion, and critical reflection. His creative process draws upon postmodern, philosophical, historical, cultural, social, and political perspectives, which play a significant role in shaping his work. As a critical thinker, Tanmoy continually examines and re-evaluates his ideas, breaking and reforming them to open new possibilities in artistic expression. Rather than adhering to a fixed medium or stylistic framework, he allows concepts to determine form. His work evolves through a sustained engagement with memory, lived experience, and intellectual inquiry, resulting in a distinctive visual language. Resisting confinement within any single ‘ism’ or tradition, Tanmoy transforms thoughts, experiences, and observations into new artistic forms. His practice reflects a belief in possibility within limitation, often leading to unexpected and innovative outcomes. Continuously exploring new modes of expression, he seeks to articulate complex thoughts, emotions, and states of being through his work.
