Inspired by the Danse Macabre story, where according to legend, Death appears at midnight every year on Halloween. He calls forth the dead to dance until a cockerel crows at dawn. Each dancer is equal to one another, no matter who they are in life, a thought that holds its own beauty. When I first heard the story, I found myself wondering what dances these skeletons and ghosts would do, and these thoughts eventually led to the drawing.
