'It is my firm belief that if one were to journey to the centre of this continent, up its arteries and down its capillaries, to the heart of its great cardiovascular system, one would discover at its core a vast, unfathomable sea. Neither reason nor passion can speak against it – the rivers flow inland, the birds fly inland, there must be an inland sea.' Purchase a limited edition print from the award-winning book. Written and illustrated by Lachlan Plain, The Lost Journals of Pedro Piscator and other tales is an eclectic illustrated collection of tall tales from across the globe and throughout the ages. This ship first appeared in a 9 x 5m mural I painted at Bulleen Art & Garden with an environmental message. The mural was described by Jason Smith, CEO of Heide Museum of Modern Art, as 'On the one hand whimsical, but with a darker side...ambitious and thought provoking.' This 30 x 20cm artwork is a limited edition Giclee Archival Print made by master printmaker, Brian Gilkes of Pharos Editions. This means not only will your artwork look fantastic but it should also last a lifetime. All artwork is printed on exhibition grade paper. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist. This image is also available in an 64 x 43cm edition limited to 20 prints. After this there will be no further limited edition runs on this piece of artwork. PRICE INCLUDES A PAPERBACK COPY OF THE LOST JOURNALS.

Since childhood Lachlan has lived in other worlds, on different plains, navigating them via several mediums – performance, painting and the written word. He won the 2012 Impress Prize for his first book, 'The Lost Journals of Pedro Piscator and other tales'. He has taken part in several solo and group exhibitions, as well as creating murals and sculpture for public spaces and commercial outlets. He is artistic director of Sanctum Theatre, a visual performance company presenting folk theatre in everyday spaces since 2006. He has also worked for the Snuff Puppets for the past few years, an irreverent and scatological giant puppet company, performing in their shows and directing their People Puppet Projects in Australia, Denmark, Sweden, South Korea, Thailand and Chile.
