Dad, I forgive me. In The poem that never came out of my mouth, LFM confronts the following questions: Is our desire to conquer love and respect from our parents the real motivators in our lives? How childhood traumas infantilize adults emotionally? What happens to us when our parents past away? Can we truly forgive? What happens to our modus operandi when we finally deal with our issues from the past? In this piece, LFM uses a pencil to draw guidelines that support his childlike handwriting. The numerous rubber marks on the sheet of paper evoke his fear of failure and his childish desire to “be perfect” in the eyes of others. LFM embraces the idea that one should draw without an eraser to learn from previous attempts…

L.F.M is a Brazilian/Norwegian artist and architect based in Oslo. In 2023, LFM successively defended his PhD thesis, which incorporates concepts of the sublime in Art developed by the philosophers Edmund Burke (1729-1797), Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) and Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882). Adopting a multi-disciplinary approach that ranges from architecture, painting, screenplay writing, drawing and film, LFM seeks to approach the means of evoking feelings of the sublime in order to generate self-awareness. His work has been published/ displayed in Norway, Japan, Brazil and Taiwan.
