About The Artwork
I had to get the bike out on the open road today and clear away the cobwebs, at around 120mph the cobwebs disengaged and blew away. On my way back I detoured along Beach road Pattaya and came across two discarded mannequins which had started out their existence as regular female models (The one on the right had a garland of rotting jasmine on her neck, significant in Thailand) Somewhere along the way a penis had been attached to both of them and they were very well modelled,veins, colouring, the whole look of them in fact. A good artist in polymer and plastics had done a fine job here. I can only surmise they may have been decorative frilly things in some ladyboy bar/ knocking shop that has since ceased to do business due to the ''pandemic of fear''. It was utterly surreal. Reality banging up against surreality. I could hardly believe my eyes, Di Chirico would roll in his grave at it, I'm sure. Anyway this piece is the outcome of that fortuitous happenstance.

As with much of my artwork: Paintings can incorporate lots of drawing and drawings quite often incorporate painting. In fact, sometimes internal debates occur as to which is what. I have always been passionate about working with figure or nude, it is my preference. The dynamics involved in working with transgender people and more recently movie iconography fuels my creative endeavours dramatically and passionately.
