About The Artwork

''The squatting leg'' is an anatomical study meant to subtly abridge the female form with an accent on its unique musculature, given the atypical pose. As the viewer slowly starts to explore the entirety of the work, starting their journey from the bottom, their eye firstly being drawn by the conspicuous form of the foot, they will be greeted by the faint and delicate charcoal and chalk lines which faithfully suggest the female form. The creation stands at an equitable 50 x 53 cm, being drawn on century-old textured paper.

As an aspiring artist, David endeavours to incorporate his philosophy of life with the beauty of representational art while permanently refining his vision, execution, and the manner in which he exhibits his work. He attempts to represent not the objects, beings, landscapes or stories themselves, but the intrinsic vigorous beauty that emanates from them and the strong mark they imprint on our eyes and souls. Besides painting, David finds time to explore the world of stained glass, creating works such as stained glass lamps and continuing to experiment various tridimensional shapes using this medium.
