About The Artwork
A loving nude female nude protects a Sumatran rhino, a vulnerable animal threatened with extinction. I chose the mannerism style and monochromatic color with pencil and sanguine to emphasize similarities the woman and endangered rhino. This species is rarely sighted and could go extinct. I chose the mannerist style in pastel and chalk to draw parallels between endangered animals and all living creatures. My nude drawings are all of New Yorkers who pose as live art models in person.
