Vineyard Drawing

This is one of my personal favorites from this series of mixed mediums. It personally moves me because it, as so many from this series, is not of my typical subject matter and yet it pleasantly and subtly works with my ongoing exploration of attempting to "illustrate" the subjects of energy, synergy and interconnection. The technique is also one that is very exciting to me because I am not one that normally experiments with materials. I don;'t have time or money to waste and yet this technique stems from experimentation with taking a rubbing from dried latex house paint that I dribble or fling onto a wood material. I usually use the dried latex for my art alone but then started taking rubbings from them in order to capture additional copies of the image created. I then go into the rubbings and accentuate the work with color pencil. This is such a fun process for me and I think it shows. To me there is one deterrent from creating to many of these works on paper... having to frame them although they look so good framed.
